    PROGRESSION

We were tasked to participate in Honor Global Talent Award.

    Woah a competition? Interesting.
Looking at all the categories provided; wallpaper, themes, watch UI design, and open design, I decided to go on with the theme design as I wanted to experience designing a theme for mobile phone, and I feel it's a bit relevant to my specialization, UI/UX.

    So here's my progression journey:

Then, proceeding on making the ideation. For this part, I decided to make an idea on each topic provided.
    (Slide 5-7)

After I decided to go with the third theme, I began to sketch my idea. My initial idea and I'm confident with it is like a girl traveling through the cityscape of futuristic city. However since I haven't practice illustration for a long times, it's a bit difficult to draw like what I want. :"(( However, I keep on trying to explore several angles and composition of the illustration.

After I got a grip on what it's gonna like, I started to look for color palette idea on the internet. Usually I never color using color palette, but this time I want to try something new and systematically. I started to apply the raw version of the color to the illustration.

Moving forward, I started to refine my sketch as well applying the base color. I refine things using Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop for doing the color since I'm more familiar to it.

On every time I finish on my work, I always tried to cut it to fit the screen size of the foldable phone and the normal phone, since I didn't know which one to go with.

The main struggle I encounter is drawing the human. I feel weird with the proportion. :"D
On week 5 I started to define the shadow and gradient, as well how the icons would look like.

Week 6 I started to define the highlight and other ornamental details, and I finally succeed on finalizing thing on Week 7!

      REFLECTION

I'm challenging myself to create full illustrations again. I used to make only individual parts of images since my first semester in university. This feels like a test of my previous drawing and coloring skills.

In this illustration, I tried using specific color palettes, which is different from my usual approach of going with what feels right. However, the results didn't meet my expectations, and I'm a bit unhappy with the colors. But I don't have much time to fix it.
