Mr. Asrizal gave us a briefing about data collection submission. We need to submit a data collection for 10 mins duration, with camera turned on, and record in the same ZOOM meeting.

GROUP 18: Rock and Roll Music
Supervisor : Mr. Vinod
TASK 2 : FIELD STUDY - DATA COLLECTION
(27/01/2022): Deciding on What to Make
We discussed on what we intended to make. The VR? The band miniature? or the phone case?? It was a tough discussion. We actually wanted to make The VR idea but afraid that we won't make it. For the final discussion, we came up with an idea, phone case.
We also talked about what will be our data collection method. Survey or Interview. We talked about each + and - about both methods.
As the meeting end, there are 3 important points to highlight; 1) We will go on with the phone case idea, 2) We will use survey using GoogleForms for the data collection method, 3) We should think of some questions for the forms.
(30/01/2022): Form Questions Ideas
We conducted a meeting to write up the forms, and write up some questions from some;fig 2.1, question ideas, Week 4 (30/01/2022)
Week 5
(03/02/2022): Form Creating and Publication
We started to create the form.

(05/02/2022): Visual Analysis
We started to do the visual analysis. The visual analysis were divided into 3 big parts:*Image referenced from Wikipedia
We started to do recording. Here's the outcome:

Week 6
(07/02/2022): Final Slides and Recorded Presentation
After the survey closed and we made the visual analysis, we started to input the datas to the slides, until we finalize our slides. Here's the final:

(09/02/2022): Conclusion Added
After his feedback, Mr. Vinod asked us to add conclusion, so here's our final slides:

Week 4
- Specific Feedback:
- Demonstrates an understanding of research methods, resourceful and has a wide scope, yet focused. Evidence of brainstorming or idea exploration is implicit in through the presentationa and seems adequate. Effective written communication, clearly stating and justifying the selected theme, concept & approach of the research, supported by relevant citations.
Week 5
- General Feedback:
- For the next video about data collection, should be recorded together in a ZOOM, because seeing from the previous one; proposal, there're lots of audio difference, like softer/louder etc.
- Specific Feedback:
- Demonstrates very good observational and research skills through a collection of various materials, using relevant tools. All documentation of collected materials is written clearly and well organised with good written communication skills. I am happy to see the RQ-RO in the begining of your presentation, well done there.
- However, there was no conclusion summing up the knowledge gained and its implications for your group's design output. It should be ideal to restate the RO & RQ along with the theme in the conclusion and indicate how the results / knowledge gained from the data collection exercise might effect the design output.
REFLECTION
- FIELD STUDY - DATA COLLECTION PHASE :
This is my first time here doing data collection in a formal way. I actually don't understand anything about the formal way of data collecting and I'm not well experienced, so sometimes, I feel like I'm lost. But as time went on and I finally finished the data collection phase, it turned out not really hard as I expected.
Observation
I observe lots of album arts pattern, some looked very bold while others looked very calm. It depends. I also observed that not all people are fast paced in doing things, that's why it needs lots of patience in doing teamworks.
Findings
Speaking about data collection, the most important part is citation, references, and sources, that'll be some points I want to marks in term of Data Collection. In this phase also, I found out that Rock and Roll have various types of album styles. I always knew that typographes and illustrations are the most basic one. I found out that rock and roll album arts are not limited to "scary" "horror" things, but it can't be as aesthetic and calm as Pop Song Albums.
